Telephone Advice
The doctor or nurse can give advice on the telephone.The receptionist will take your number or tell you the best time to ring back.
Please ring by 11AM so the doctors can plan accordingly.
Practice Nurse
Our practices nurses, will see patients by appointment for a wide range of services. You do not need to see the doctor first.
- Asthma and diabetic checks
- Blood pressure checks
- Cervical smears
- Contraception and family planning advice
- Dressings and removal of stitches
- Ear syringing
- Health advice eg diet, smoking, immunisations, travel and routine travel health advice.
- Travel vaccinations
Contraception, Family Planning & Sexual Health
We offer a full range of services including planning your pregnancy, contraception, emergency contraception (up to 120 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse), cervical smears, advice on safer sex and sexually transmitted infections. We also provide counselling and referral for termination of pregnancy. You may make a routine appointment with the doctor/nurse for this service. Young people under 16 are guaranteed a confidential service with any doctor or nurse.
These services are also available at other local health centres. Please see the practice notice board for details. We offer NEXPLANON and COIL FITTING.

Minor Surgery
Minor surgery (removal or skin lesions, wart treatment etc) is available at the practice. Please make an appointment to see the doctor.
Charges for Non-NHS Work
Although we are part of the NHS, we do provide some services for which there is a charge. We get numerous requests to provide patients with covering documentation. Forms and letters relating to insurance claims and policies, passport forms, private certificates, cancellation of holidays, inability to attend or participate in exams, school or college activities, the ability/inability to undertake exercise or sports activities and many others will all incur a charge.
Your doctor will usually be able to complete insurance claim forms or sign passport forms, but please allow a minimum of seven working days' notice.
